Every pest has a
specific solution.
We don't apply generic treatments to unique situations. Each service starts with correct identification and ends with documented outcomes.
Ant Control
Not all ants are the same, and the treatment approach varies significantly by species. Odorous house ants (the "sugar ants" most Austin homeowners know) require baiting programs that reach the colony β broadcast spray repellents cause colony splitting and make the problem worse. Fire ants require direct mound treatment or targeted broadcast baiting depending on property size. Carpenter ants require structural investigation to locate nesting sites.
We identify the species on every assessment and select the appropriate treatment method. Our ant programs include perimeter treatment to interrupt foraging trails, targeted bait placement for colony elimination, and written guidance on conducive conditions to address between visits.
Cockroach Elimination
Cockroach control is where IPM principles make the most dramatic difference in outcome. German cockroaches β the species responsible for the vast majority of residential infestations β are highly resistant to aerosol spray treatments and require gel bait programs combined with Insect Growth Regulators (IGRs) that prevent juvenile cockroaches from reaching reproductive maturity.
American and Oriental cockroaches typically enter from exterior harborage and respond better to exterior perimeter treatment combined with habitat modification. We identify the species on every assessment because applying German cockroach protocols to American cockroaches (or vice versa) produces poor outcomes and unnecessary chemical use.
Why Sprays Fail for German Cockroaches
Repellent aerosols scatter German cockroach populations rather than eliminating them, driving them deeper into wall voids and making subsequent bait programs less effective. If you've had repeated spray treatments with temporary results, this is likely why.
Rodent Exclusion & Control
Effective rodent control requires two concurrent tracks: eliminating the active population and permanently closing the structural pathways that allowed entry. Most companies focus on trapping without addressing exclusion β the result is a cycle of repeated infestations as new rodents exploit the same entry points that allowed the original population in.
Our rodent program begins with a full structural audit documenting every gap 6mm or larger in the accessible building envelope. We then provide exclusion services β sealing identified entry points with appropriate materials (copper mesh, hardware cloth, silicone, hydraulic cement) β alongside interior trap placement. No open-entry rodenticide bait stations are used in any area accessible to children or pets.
Termite Protection
Central Texas is in a high-to-very-high termite pressure zone β Formosan subterranean termites are present in addition to Eastern subterranean species, and Formosan colonies can be 10x larger and 5x more destructive than typical Eastern colonies. Distinguishing between species matters for treatment selection and timeline expectations.
We use non-repellent barrier systems β specifically Termidor SC (fipronil) or Altriset (chlorantraniliprole) for child/pet-sensitive properties β that termites contact and transfer through colony contact rather than avoiding. This "transfer effect" produces colony elimination rather than just population suppression, which is the critical difference between temporary and lasting termite control.
If subterranean termite activity is found in treated zones within 5 years of treatment, we re-treat at no charge. This guarantee is written into your service agreement before any work begins.
Spider Management
Austin is home to both black widow and brown recluse spiders β medically significant species that warrant specific management attention beyond general pest programs. Black widows are common in undisturbed areas of garages, wood piles, and dense landscaping. Brown recluses are indoor species that prefer dark, undisturbed spaces: attics, closets, boxes in storage, and behind stored items.
Our spider program includes systematic web and egg sac removal in all accessible treatment zones, targeted residual application in harborage areas, sticky monitoring traps for ongoing population assessment, and written harborage modification recommendations. We identify every spider captured in monitoring β distinguishing harmless species from medically relevant ones and adjusting treatment intensity accordingly.
Mosquito & Tick Reduction
Mosquito control effectiveness is heavily dependent on habitat management β eliminating or treating breeding sites (standing water in any container that holds water for more than 4 days) produces more durable results than spray treatment alone. Our program begins with a harborage and breeding site audit, followed by targeted treatment of resting vegetation and breeding water where elimination isn't feasible.
For tick management β particularly important in properties with deer traffic, wooded edges, or high grass margins β we use granular and liquid treatments in the transition zone between lawn and landscape beds, where tick populations concentrate. We assess and document tick pressure with drag sampling on initial visits so treatment decisions are based on actual population data, not assumptions.
